Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure all garments comply with relevant local and international safety regulations (e.g., CPSIA, REACH, OEKO-TEX®, ASTM, ISO, GOTS).
∎ Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for garment products during development and post-production.
∎ Develop and implement product safety policies, testing protocols, and labeling requirements.
∎ Collaborate with design, sourcing, production, and quality teams to incorporate safety requirements at every stage.
∎ Coordinate third-party testing and certification processes with accredited laboratories.
∎ Investigate product complaints, safety incidents, or recalls; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
∎ Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to keep policies and practices up to date.
∎ Provide product safety training and awareness sessions to internal teams and suppliers.
∎ Maintain detailed documentation of testing, certifications, compliance checks, and safety evaluations.
∎ Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure adherence to product safety standards.
∎ Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or retail clients.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ We seek a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Product Safety Manager to oversee and ensure all garment products meet applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety compliance systems and procedures across our apparel lines, minimizing consumer risk, and ensuring brand integrity.
