Certified / approved by at least one reputed buyer:

Job Context:

The Lab In-Charge will lead laboratory operations ensuring all testing complies with international buyer standards. The role requires a buyer-accredited professional (e.g. H&M, Primark, Inditex etc.) who can independently manage laboratory testing requirement, certification, audits, and approvals, ensuring full compliance before and during production.

Job Responsibilities:

1.      Buyer Compliance & Accreditation:

·        Maintain active buyer accreditation/certification (e.g., H&M, Primark, Inditex)

·        Ensure lab meets and maintains buyer approval standards at all times

·        Lead buyer lab audits, validations, and technical assessments

·        Implement corrective actions based on buyer audit feedback

2.      Lab Operations & Testing Control:

·        Oversee all physical and chemical testing of Yarns, fabrics, trims, and garments

·        Ensure testing is conducted strictly as per buyer manuals and international standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM)

·        Approve test reports before submission to buyers

3.      Equipment & Calibration Management:

·        Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated as per buyer requirements

·        Maintain calibration schedules and documentation

·        Ensure lab setup aligns with buyer-approved equipment standards

4.      Sample Approval & Bulk Readiness:

·        Verify all development and pre-production samples meet buyer lab standards

·        Block bulk production if lab results are non-compliant

·        Ensure bulk production only proceeds with approved test results

5.      Chemical Compliance & Sustainability:

·        Ensure compliance with RSL (Restricted Substances List) and MRSL requirements

·        Monitor chemical testing (azo, formaldehyde, heavy metals, pH, etc.)

·        Support sustainability and compliance initiatives (ZDHC, OEKO-TEX if applicable)

6.      Coordination & Communication:

·        Liaise directly with buyer technical/quality teams for lab-related approvals

·        Coordinate with merchandising, QA, and production teams

·        Manage third-party lab testing when required

7.      Team Leadership:

·        Lead, train, and develop lab technicians

·        Ensure competency standards are maintained as per buyer expectations
