Education:

  • Graduate in any relevant discipline.

  • Textile graduate will be preferable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years experiences in related job area or market.

  • Preferable experience especially work with retail/brand designers.

Knowledge:

  • Technical knowledge (strong theoretical & practical knowledge about sweater will be preferred)

  • Knowledge of the full supply chain.

  • Strong knowledge in different type of sweater yarn and sourcing and pricing.

  • Strong knowledge of yarn type and ability to analyze gauze, stitch density and knitting techniques.

  • Capability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Good written & verbal communication skills.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

To perform as an efficient technician gaining work experience and assisting seniors team members with crucial tasks and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

A) PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

  • Understand buyer tech packs (TP), sketches, BOM, construction details, and special requirements.

  • Review measurements, patterns, stitch details, and fabric/yarn specifications.

  • Ensure feasibility of design based on factory capability and machinery.

  • Provide suggestions for cost efficient construction without affecting quality.

  • Handfeel, design/ knitting checked and align with price and customer satisfaction.

 B) SAMPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Develop All the development sample, support to proto, fit, size set, PP samples, TOP samples if needed as per buyer timeline from team.

  • Check all samples (Styling,GG, knitting, shrinkage, tension, weight, embroidery, print, wash, accessories) before sending to buyer.

  • Communicate technical comments to factory and ensure corrections are implemented.

  • Maintain sample tracker and approval history.

C) FABRIC / YARN / TRIM APPROVAL

  • Evaluate yarn quality: GRM, shrinkage, count, ply, strength, tension.

  • Lead hand feel, color continuity, and shade-band approvals.

  • Follow up with mills for bulk approval before production.

  • Check trims: buttons, zippers, labels, poly, as per buyer standards for development sample purpose.

D) TECHNICAL FILE & DOCUMENTATION

  • Support to make technical files: Knitting details, operation breakdown (OB), garment construction sheet.

  • Maintain TNA and ensure milestone tracking all the samples

  • Ensure all updates from buyer are implemented in the latest tech pack.

  • Communicate clear instructions to Factory designer/ technician and Knitting Chart team.

E) CONSUMPTION & COSTING

  • Prepare accurate fabric/yarn consumption based on actual knitting chart and size set.

  • Coordinate with design team for final consumption/ weight.

  • Update costing sheets with correct material details.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities (stitch modifications, consumption optimization). Knitting time and others.

F) PRODUCTION SUPPORT

  • Conduct PP meetings with factory technical teams and Centro QA

  • Solve technical issues during bulk production (Knitting defects, Yarn problems, color mismatch, Linking and other operations).

  • Ensure correct handling of print, embroidery, wash, and special processes.

  • Monitor final inspections for technical accuracy.

G)  RISK ASSESSMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Identify potential risks early: Yarn delays, technical mismatch, etc.

  • Take proactive steps to avoid quality failures and production delays.

  • Provide alternative solutions to reduce lead time and cost.

H) COMMUNICATION & COORDINATION

  • Act as a bridge between buyer,Merchandiser, factory, Yarn mill, QA, and sample room.

  • Send clear, precise technical comments to factory.

  • Attend buyer calls, technical meetings, and approvals.

  • Maintain transparent communication to avoid last minute issues.

I) QUALITY CONTROL & COMPLIANCE

  • Maintain required quality standard for each buyer.

  • Support QA team to interpret buyer comments correctly.

  • Ensure bulk yarn matches approved swatch and shade band.

  • Follow up shrinkage, twisting, colorfastness, pilling, and other test reports.

J) MAINTAINING GOOD COMUNICATION & RELATIONSHIP WITH BUYER & UPPLIER

  • Ensuring the correct reply of all buyers’ / Suppliers mail within the same day or in some cases very next day. Correct and Quick reply is the key in business success.

  • Maintain good & healthy relationships with buyers / Suppliers via verbal and personal communication.

  • Present the upcharge or technical difficulties of the orders with logical & technical explanation to get best output for company from buyer.

K) ENSURE HEALTHY & WARM ATMOSPHARE IN TEAM.

  • Ensure the correct work distribution among the team members to get the best output from team members.

  • Train the team members in correct and effective way

  • Help to solve the problem in working area of teammate so that members can work at full swing and motivated

  • Motivate the teammates in correct and effective way to achieve best output with minimum input.

  • Find out/sort out the easiest way of working on each process so the specific job can be done within the shortest time in effective way

  • Figure out the weak area of the teammate and take corrective measures or training to get the improvement of that particular area in future

  • Help to perceive the training or related improvement program for the team mate to increase the professional or process related skill

  • Maintain month wise indecent or performance report for the teammate

  • Place proposal of the promotion or demotion to supervisor on the basis on individual performance.

L) MAINTAIN THE OFFICE RULES AND REGULATION

  • Follow the office decorum and policy of company

  • Maintain good relationships with team and the other dept. of company to make smooth working arena.

  • Take effective part in the official working process and provide effective suggestions when required.

  • Keep warm and good relationship with other concern dept. of the office to do job in ab at smooth and friendly manner.
