• Minimum 08 years of progressively responsible experience in the education sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or school management role.

• Proven track record of leading academic institutions, preferably within faith-based or values-driven schools.

• Experience in building strong relationships with parents, communities and stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

• A Master’s degree from a reputed public university is required; a Master of Education (M.Ed.) is highly preferred.

• Professional training in school management, curriculum development or leadership will be an advantage.

• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong administrative and organizational abilities with proven capacity to manage budgets, resources and staff.

• Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and inclusive education.

• Proficiency in English and Bangla (both written and spoken).

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite is preferred.

• Demonstrated passion for teaching and student success.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Maintain Strong Policy Compliance.

Job Summary:

Muslim Hands is a UK-registered international relief and development NGO, established in 1993 in response to the Bosnian crisis. Since then, it has grown into a global humanitarian organization delivering emergency aid and long-term development programs in over 32 countries.

Muslim Hands has been operating in Bangladesh since 1995, focusing on improving the lives of vulnerable communities through interventions in Education, Health, Food Security, Livelihoods, Shelter, WASH, Religious Infrastructure and Emergency Relief.

Muslim Hands Gulzar Bahar Khanam (RH) School of Excellence, Gazipur, a part of our Education Programme is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Principal to join our academic team. The Principal will provide strategic leadership and operational management to ensure academic excellence and effective school functioning. The role includes academic oversight, staff supervision, community engagement and alignment with Islamic values and organizational goals. The Principal will foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports student learning and staff development, while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

• Provide strategic and visionary leadership to set clear goals and direction for the school.

• Oversee day-to-day school operations, ensuring effective and efficient management of resources.

• Lead, guide and support teachers, administrative staff, and support personnel.

• Implement policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with the school’s mission and values.

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

• Collaborate with the School Management Committee on overall school governance and development.

• Maintain regular communication with the Thana Education Officer and other relevant government authorities.

2. Curriculum Development and Implementation

• Ensure the curriculum meets national education standards and integrates Islamic teachings and values.

• Collaborate with teaching staff to design, deliver, and evaluate academic programs that drive excellence.

• Encourage innovative teaching methodologies and the effective use of technology to enhance learning outcomes.

Student Achievement and Development

• Monitor, assess and report on student progress to ensure high academic standards.

• Implement initiatives that support students’ spiritual, moral, social, and personal growth.

• Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that prioritizes student well-being.

• Address behavioral and disciplinary issues while providing support for students’ mental health needs.

Staff Management and Development

• Recruit, train and retain high-quality staff aligned with the school’s mission.

• Conduct regular staff evaluations and provide constructive feedback, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

• Cultivate a collaborative work culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.

Community Engagement

• Strengthen relationships with parents, community leaders and stakeholders.

• Represent the school positively within the community, upholding its mission and values.

• Organize and actively participate in school events, workshops, special observances, and outreach programs.

Financial and Resource Management

• Develop, manage and monitor the school’s budget to ensure responsible and efficient use of funds.

• Oversee the maintenance, safety, and development of school facilities and resources.

• Identify funding opportunities and build strong relationships with donors and partners.

7. Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure full compliance with local, national and international education standards and regulations.

• Prepare and submit timely reports to the Education Program Manager/Director.

• Safeguard the alignment of all school operations with the mission and values of Muslim Hands.
