∎ The overall objective of the PLEASE project is to contribute to the reduction of plastic waste pollution in Cox`s Bazar through the development of a comprehensive and sustainable waste management pathway. In the long-term waste management strategy this project is designed to integrate a multifaceted systems change initiative in Cox`s Bazar and support the municipality for a robust waste management ecosystem. This will be achieved through a systematic and coherent approach by increasing the engagement of relevant stakeholders as well as the capacity and connection of the waste management value chain actors.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Plastic Recycling Expert will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our plastic recycling project in Cox`s Bazar. The successful candidate will collaborate with the production team to ensure the timely and efficient completion of project deliverables, adhering to established project plans and schedules.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the technical team in designing and manufacturing different products from recycled plastic.
∎ Oversee the development of products, ensuring they meet quality and functionality requirements.
∎ Develop and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
∎ Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet organizational and international standards.
∎ Manage and mentor the technical team, providing guidance and support as needed.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Strong leadership and project management skills.
∎ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
∎ Knowledge in plastic recycling and product development is highly desirable.
