Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Officer - MHPSS focuses on ensuring optimal preventive and psychosocial aid to people with mental health and psychosocial needs in Save the Children medical facilities at the community level in line with Save the Children principles, standards, and procedures.
∎ S/he screens for and provides on-demand supports pertaining to mental wellbeing to children, caregivers, and other beneficiaries in need of psychosocial support and services.
∎ S/he develops and contextualizes, bridges, and coordinates with other program staff with the purpose and the provision of integrated support and care.
∎ Reporting directly to the MHPSS Coordinator, the incumbent collaborates directly with community mental health workers (CMHWs), MCHN promoters, and IYCF-E Counsellors for facilitating group activities with a psychosocial objective, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, in order to facilitate and establish an effective and realistic approach to address issues with psychosocial wellbeing, and for supporting the identification and referrals of children and caregivers with physical or mental health-related problems to the internal and external person(s) of concern.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years experience of MHPSS and counseling in non-profit organizations
∎ Demonstrated expertise in documenting, analyzing, and summarizing qualitative data
∎ Proven experience in providing/ facilitating training and meeting sessions
∎ Good understanding of child psychology, child rights, and child protection issues
∎ Fluency in local language and good knowledge about geography, local culture, and customs
∎ Essential skills in computing and IT knowledge (MS Office package, hotline, and internet)
