∎ The Protibesh project is funded by USAID which focuses on three result areas including i) Strengthening environmental governance and management; ii) Mitigating biodiversity threats and iii) Advancement of market-based incentives that promote sustainable natural resources management under the Development Objective "Strengthened Resilience to Natural Hazards." The goal of Protibesh is to improve ecosystem conservation in and around targeted key biodiversity areas of Bangladesh such as northeast haor areas and southwest Sundarbans. CNRS will be engaged in implementing project activities at the ground level with the technical support of Chemonics International.
∎ Job Nature: Full-time (up to May 2026)
∎ Job Location: Any location of North-East and South-West Region of Bangladesh
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support CMOs, local governments, and stakeholders at sites to improve co-management and facilitate and implantation of livelihoods interventions of the projects.
∎ Coordinates delivery of support to site-level.
∎ Support reviews of management plans
∎ Support RIMS, FRSS, and SMART
∎ Liaise with government counterparts including Department of Fisheries, Forest Department, Department of Land and local administration.
∎ Illustrative activities:
∎ Contribute in developing and implementing Co-management plans of CMOs
∎ Maintain close liaison with different stakeholders at project site to implement the project activities
∎ Provide technical support to field organizers
∎ Help different assessments and studies on NRM and livelihoods
∎ Input various data on NRM and Livelihoods into online management system
∎ Provide facilitation and technical activities related to governance of NRM and livelihoods.
∎ Participate and coordinate landscape level assessments and value chain and sub-sector analyses so as to be able to plan and determine training needs for targeted beneficiaries linking to value chains and markets.
∎ Implement livelihood program of the region including vocational training linked to jobs as well as value chain-based agriculture, non-timber forest products, etc.
∎ Participate and coordinate market demand assessment and ensure the selected sub-sectors or value chains focus on markets for sale of the product
∎ Monitor and supervise the field organizers to strengthen value chains and AIG activity
∎ Data management and record keeping
∎ Report writing and monitoring and data base development in the prescribed format
∎ Any other activities as assigned by the respective management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum three years of experience promoting livelihoods interventions
∎ Having excellent understanding on local contexts, country policies, rules and acts related to forest and wetland.
∎ Strong ability in working with GoB systems.
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill
∎ Excellent reporting skill in English
∎ Understanding of local culture and dialects
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ To protect children in connection and uphold safeguarding principles
∎ Effective computer literacy and Tab & web-based MIS operation
∎ Having problem solving and prompt decision making capacity
∎ Ability to work under pressure
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender sensitive perception
∎ Willingness and ability to drive motorcycle in the field as and when required; Valid driving license is an added advantage
Salary:
∎ BDT 41,140/month and other admissible benefits.
