∎ The Merchandiser holds the accountability for sourcing new buyer`s working closely with the buyer & the supplier managing respective accounts from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily task and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibility is to sourcing new buyer's using all necessary tool's & support.
∎ Work directly under managing director supervision & guideline.
∎ Independently execute woven product development, understand latest fashion trends, source new fabric & develop customer collect.
∎ Ensure smooth communications with customers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.
∎ Continuously update the fabrics, trims, print embroideries, washes and stitch library including technical data and price idea for easy reference.
∎ Understand customer requirements and closely work with design team to manage the correct samples within time and quality.
∎ Ensure product and production and samples follow up with factories and related procedures.
∎ Communicate with buyers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.
∎ Source trims, accessories, and fabrics (both overseas and local).
∎ Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories.
∎ Arrange lab dip, trims, bulk fabric color, and quality testing for customer approval.
∎ Work closely with the fabric mills and suppliers ahead of design packs to develop new
∎ fabrics and finishes to reduce lead time.
∎ Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the
∎ behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years' merchandising experience in a reputed buying office or factory in Knit category
∎ Must be knowledgeable of garments construction and costing, specifically Woven fabric properties, fabric printing, and surface applications (e.g., heat transfer, embroideries, screen-printing), Kids wear product safety and integrity.
∎ Must have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, costing, production tracking and execution of orders independently.
∎ Profound knowledge of Woven garment engineering and production processes is required.
∎ Have sound knowledge of fabrics and an excellent network of fabric, print, embroidery & trims suppliers.
∎ Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.
∎ Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude.
∎ Good understanding of core business aspects.
∎ Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and delivery.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team.
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic.
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills.
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection.
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English.
