Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in the Knit & Woven Garments industry, with preference given to candidates having experience in a managerial IE role.
Sound practical knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and lean techniques in knit composite factories.
Proven skills in process mapping, time study, and efficiency calculation.
Excellent proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Job Context: The IE & Planning Manager in a knit and woven garments factory plays a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring cost-effective operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of garment manufacturing, and the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives. The IE & Planning Manager collaborates with production, planning, quality, and merchandising teams to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Process Optimization:
Analyze and improve sewing, cutting, and finishing processes to enhance productivity.
Develop and implement time and motion studies to set standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to streamline workflow.
Capacity Planning:
Calculate machine and manpower requirements based on order quantity and style complexity.
Prepare line layouts and allocate resources to meet production deadlines.
Monitor actual vs. planned production and adjust plans accordingly.
Efficiency Monitoring:
Track line efficiency and individual operator performance.
Implement performance improvement plans and training programs.
Use KPIs to evaluate and report on production effectiveness.
Method Development:
Develop and document best practices for garment construction.
Introduce new methods and tools to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
Collaborate with sample and R&D teams to ensure production feasibility.
Cost Control:
Analyze labor and overhead costs to identify savings opportunities.
Support cost estimation for new styles and orders.
Work with finance and merchandising teams to align costing with production capabilities.
Team Leadership & Training:
Lead a team of IE officers and junior engineers.
Conduct training sessions on lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Operational Oversight (The "Cut to Pack" Flow)
Cutting Floor: Oversee marker efficiency, fabric utilization, and precision cutting to minimize wastage.
Sewing Floor: Coordinate with Floor Supervisors to track hourly output against targets and troubleshoot technical issues.
· Finishing & Packing: Ensure garments are pressed, tagged, and packed according to specific buyer manuals and export standards.
