Must have strong practical knowledge of Sewing Quality Management in a large and reputed knit garments factory.
Sound knowledge of sewing defects, workmanship standards, garment construction, and quality checkpoints.
Strong understanding of AQL, inline inspection, end-line inspection, final inspection, and defect classification.
Practical knowledge of SPI, stitch types, seam quality, seam strength, needle damage, skipped stitches, puckering, uneven seams, measurement issues, and other sewing-related defects.
Good knowledge of buyer quality standards, approved samples, measurement specifications, technical packages, and workmanship requirements.
Ability to conduct root-cause analysis, CAPA, and quality improvement activities.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a quality team.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate effectively with Production, IE, Technical, Merchandising, Cutting, Finishing, and Compliance departments.
Candidates with experience in high-volume knit garments production and international buyer requirements will be preferred.
Job Description / Responsibilities
Supervise Sewing Quality Operations – Oversee daily quality activities on the sewing floor and ensure garments meet buyer-approved quality standards.
Inline Quality Control – Monitor inline inspection, identify defects at the source, and ensure immediate corrective action.
Workmanship & Construction – Ensure proper sewing techniques, stitch quality, SPI, seam strength, measurements, construction, and overall workmanship.
Critical Defect Control – Monitor critical and major defects and take necessary preventive actions to minimize rejection and rework.
Buyer Requirement Alignment – Ensure production follows buyer specifications, approved samples, technical packages, workmanship standards, and quality requirements.
First Output & Pilot Run Inspection – Closely monitor first output and pilot production to identify quality issues before bulk production.
Defect Analysis & Root Cause – Analyze recurring defects and conduct root-cause analysis with production teams to prevent repetition.
Quality Team Leadership – Supervise QAD executives, inspectors, and checkers; provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training.
Cross-Functional Coordination – Work closely with Sewing Production, IE, Technical, Cutting, Finishing, Merchandising, and Compliance teams to resolve quality issues.
Production Floor Monitoring – Regularly visit sewing lines and monitor quality performance, defect trends, rework, alteration, and rejection levels.
AQL & Final Inspection – Ensure proper implementation of AQL standards and coordinate with finishing/final inspection teams for consistent quality.
Audit & Buyer Visit Support – Prepare quality records, reports, samples, and necessary documents for buyer inspections, audits, and technical visits.
Quality Reporting – Prepare daily and weekly quality reports, identify major risks, and submit corrective and preventive action plans.
Quality Improvement – Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, alteration, rejection, and customer complaints.
Process Control – Ensure quality checkpoints are properly maintained throughout the sewing process and that quality standards are consistently followed.
Continuous Improvement – Introduce effective quality control methods and practical solutions to improve sewing quality, productivity, and overall factory performance.
