Responsibilities & Context:
Key Strategic Responsibilities:
1. Process Standardization & Time Study
• Develop, validate, and update Standard Cycle Times (SCT) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all SKUs/components.
• Establish optimal Man-to-Machine ratios to maximize direct labor efficiency.
• Create and validate SMV/SAM for all accessory processes and update them with method or machine changes.
2. Capacity Planning & Line Balancing
• Conduct theoretical vs. actual capacity studies for critical machines and processes.
• Identify bottlenecks, balance manpower/operations against target capacity, and eliminate process gaps.
• Plan machine/equipment requirements based on order books and coordinate with Maintenance/Production.
3. Productivity, Loss Reduction & OEE
• Implement OEE tracking and lead SMED projects to minimize downtime.
• Drive material yield improvement and reduce process waste.
• Analyze daily losses (waiting, breakdowns, quality, material/manpower shortages) and implement corrective actions.
4. Layout & Material Flow
• Design/revise shop-floor layouts to reduce unnecessary material handling and optimize workflow.
5. Costing & Budget Support
• Provide exact IE inputs (SMV/SAM, machine hour rates, labor minutes, consumption norms) for accurate product costing and quotations.
6. Continuous Improvement
• Lead Kaizen, VSM (Value Stream Mapping), line balancing, and workstation improvement projects.
Operational & Daily Duties:
• Target Setting: Set hourly, shift, and daily targets based on SMV, manpower, working hours, and efficiency.
• Floor Management: Conduct daily floor visits to monitor target vs. actual output, manpower availability, machine issues, and material shortages.
• WIP Control: Monitor WIP between processes to ensure smooth production flow.
• Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly IE reports (Efficiency, Productivity, Capacity Utilization, SMV achievement, Manpower utilization) and present key gaps to management.
• Training: Train supervisors and operators on standard methods, work measurement, and productivity improvement techniques.
• Coordination: Work cross-functionally with Production, Planning, PPC, Quality, Maintenance, and Merchandising to ensure seamless operations.
