Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of the role is to create a culture of continuous learning and capability development within the manufacturing unit by designing relevant tools, driving a safety-and-quality-first mindset, and delivering targeted upskilling initiatives in close collaboration with plant leadership and operations management. The role aims to equip factory colleagues — from shop-floor operators to supervisory staff — and strengthen overall operational performance through structured development interventions aligned with production, quality, and safety goals.
**Factory visit is mandatory (2-3 days per week)
Responsibilities
1. Learning & Capability Development Analysis
- Identify capability gaps through shop-floor observations, performance data, incident/quality reports, and stakeholder feedback.
- Develop role-based learning journeys for operators, technicians, and supervisors to support skill progression and operational effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and safety-conscious learning across the manufacturing unit.
2. Training Design & Facilitation
- Develop training modules, SOPs-based toolkits, assessments, and learning materials aligned with production, quality, and safety standards.
- Facilitate onboarding, machine/process-specific training, safety induction, refresher programs, and on-the-job coaching for plant employees.
- Ensure training content remains practical, hands-on, and aligned with equipment, process, and compliance requirements.
- Measure training effectiveness and skill retention through assessments, practical evaluations, and on-floor performance indicators.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment
- Co-create practical training materials and job aids with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Conduct regular shop-floor visits to understand operational challenges, near-misses, and capability gaps.
- Work closely with plant leadership, production heads, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) teams to align learning initiatives with operational and safety goals.
- Share learning progress and skill-development impact with stakeholders through data and performance insights.
- Build awareness among supervisors and line managers on coaching techniques and effective on-the-job training methods.
4. Learning Systems & Learning Data Management
- Introduce structured on-the-job training (OJT) systems, skill matrices, and digital tools to track competency development.
- Maintain and update training records, certification logs (including statutory/safety certifications), and capability development trackers.
- Ensure alignment of learning outcomes with productivity, quality, and safety KPIs to reinforce desired behaviors.
- Continuously review and enhance training processes and interventions to maximize operational impact and reduce skill-related downtime or incidents.
