Experience:
1. Workforce planning and analysis: analyse the research institute's strategic goals and research projects to determine required workforce skills, competencies and capacities, and develop plans to align the workforce with the organisation's research objectives;
2. Skill gap analysis: identify skill and knowledge gaps in the current workforce and suggest training to bridge those gaps for future research;
3. Recruitment strategy: develop recruitment strategies for hiring researchers, scientists, lab technicians and other critical roles, including creating job descriptions, determining recruitment channels and participating in the selection process;
4. Talent acquisition: collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and effectively recruit top talent in biotech and research;
5. Succession planning: develop plans to identify and groom internal talent for key positions, ensuring continuity in critical roles;
6. Performance management: design performance management systems that track employee performance, provide regular feedback and tie individual goals to the institute's research objectives;
7. Compensation and benefits: analyse industry benchmarks to create competitive compensation and benefits packages and ensure internal equity and regulatory compliance;
8. Diversity and inclusion: develop strategies to promote diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, creating a culture of fairness and equal opportunity;
9. Employee engagement: create initiatives to improve employee engagement and job satisfaction in the biotech research industry;
10.Organisational development: provide guidance to enhance organisational structure, communication channels and teamwork for streamlined research operations;
11.Change management: prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) so that HR practices align with organisational needs during expansion, merger or re-engineering;
12.Legal compliance: stay updated on labour laws and regulations relevant to the biotech and research sectors to ensure compliance, and collect and analyse HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives, workforce productivity, turnover rates and other key indicators;
13.Collaboration: collaborate with other departments to align HR strategies with institute goals by preparing an SOP, and provide HR strategy insights to institute leadership for successful research projects.
