Education:
1. Financial planning and analysis: develop and implement financial strategies and plans to achieve the project's goals; conduct financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis; and provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making;
2. Budgeting and forecasting: prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitor budget performance, analyse variances and adjust budgets and forecasts to align with changing circumstances;
3. Financial reporting: generate regular financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements and financial dashboards, ensuring they are accurate, compliant with accounting standards and meaningful to stakeholders;
4. Risk management: identify and assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies; monitor and manage liquidity, credit and market risks; and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements;
5. Cash management: manage cash flow to ensure the project has sufficient funds to meet its operational and strategic needs and invest excess cash to maximise returns while minimising risk;
6. Financial decision support: collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights, and evaluate the financial impact of potential investments and projects;
7. Financial policy and process development: establish and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance, and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy;
8. Audit and compliance: coordinate and facilitate financial audits by external auditors and ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
9. Cost management: analyse cost structures, identify opportunities to reduce cost without compromising quality or performance, and implement and monitor cost-saving measures;
10.Team management and training: supervise and mentor finance staff and provide training and development opportunities to enhance the financial team's skills and knowledge;
11.Financial technology and systems: evaluate and implement financial software and systems to streamline processes and improve data accuracy, and stay updated on technological advancements in financial management;
12.Stakeholder communication: communicate financial information and insights to senior management, board members and other stakeholders, translating complex financial data into understandable reports and presentations;
13.Ethical and legal compliance: ensure ethical behaviour and compliance with financial and accounting codes of conduct and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
