∎ The overall objective of the PLEASE project is to contribute to the reduction of plastic waste pollution in Cox`s Bazar through the development of a comprehensive and sustainable waste management pathway. In the long-term waste management strategy this project is designed to integrate a multifaceted systems change initiative in Cox`s Bazar and support the municipality for a robust waste management ecosystem. This will be achieved through a systematic and coherent approach by increasing the engagement of relevant stakeholders as well as the capacity and connection of the waste management value chain actors.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Manager, Collaboration and Partnership Management Advocacy will be primarily responsible to develop the local community engagement strategy, steer community level waste management programme, and undertake local-level campaign drives for responsible waste management, supporting the project`s goal to reduce plastic waste.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support in developing a comprehensive strategy to engage with local stakeholders, including community groups (e.g., waste workers, recyclers, and fishermen), businesses, and government organizations.
∎ Identify key stakeholders and prioritize them based on their influence and relevance to waste management initiatives.
∎ Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with local community leaders, businesses, government officials, and environmental organisations.
∎ Foster collaboration and partnerships to advance waste management and environmental goals.
∎ Take the lead in implementing plastic reduction strategies at the community and stakeholder level. Work towards achieving the project's objectives related to reducing plastic waste in the local area.
∎ Mobilise and coordinate community members, and stakeholders for waste collection drives.
∎ Facilitate training and incentive schemes for the waste collectors and recyclers
∎ Manage the budget allocated for waste management programs effectively.
∎ Track and report on progress towards plastic waste reduction targets and provide support for continuous learning and adaptation using the monitoring, evaluation, research and learning plan.

∎ Communication and documentation.
∎ Excellent analytical skills.
∎ Excellent communications skills both in English and Bangla.
∎ Ability to make high quality presentations.
∎ Ability to work with senior government officials, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector
∎ Expertise in knowledge management, communications and social media is required.
∎ Up to date knowledge on circular economy, waste management, urban development, and social mobilization, right based approach, gender, good governance.
