Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 7-10 years of extensive experience in chartering and operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role.
- Strong track record in international vessel chartering, import logistics, and maritime operations.
- Proven experience in managing demurrage, arbitration, and broker relationships. Strong financial acumen with experience in cost control, settlement, and revenue protection.
- In-depth knowledge of Charter Party agreements, shipping laws, international maritime regulations, LC documentation, and dispute resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields is preferred and a Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Professional certifications in Chartering / Shipping Management / Supply Chain preferred.

Responsibilities & Context:
A global trading firm is looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager – Chartering & Operations to lead and manage our international chartering and shipping operations. The role requires strategic oversight of chartering, operational excellence, and proactive coordination with global partners, owners, and brokers to ensure smooth execution and growth of our shipping and operations.
Job Responsibility:
- Responsible for all the international chartering to ensure operational excellence globally.
- Maintaining close coordination with all associated shipping personnel, international brokers, bunker agents to support chartering.
- Supervising and managing daily post fixture operations and closely monitoring the operations team to drive continuous excellence in cargo discharge management.
- Working as a key member in the strategic projects, its feasibility and execution, along with continuously assist country head for tapping in new opportunities for growth in Bangladesh and beyond.
- Negotiating claims and responding promptly and effectively to take a proactive approach in solving shipping problems and arbitrations.
- Processing and ensuring compliance with Charter Party requirements and company procedures as well as all relevant operational information between vessels, brokers, charterers and agents.
- Providing voyage and time charter instructions to masters and convey expectations and then follow up to monitor compliance.
- Monitoring all the shipping related issues like buyer contract, demurrage, arbitration, broker channels, LC documentation, discharge follow-up to prevent revenue leakage.
- Collaborating with cross functions – Working closely with sales team regarding shipment, post – sales ops and discharging; Finance department for AR mgt and final account settlement; HR department for training competency and team development.
