∎ JOB PURPOSE
∎ The purpose of Lead, Advocacy, Communication, Networking and PVAW in GJD is to take the lead in advocacy and communication strategy development, planning and management. The Lead will oversee advocacy, communication, and networking and PVAW initiative and ensure expected results are achieved in line with the goals set in the BRAC Gender Strategy. The designation person will also be responsible for leading issue based advocacy for BRAC`s existing gender justice advocacy areas such as: strengthening public prosecution system to end impunity for SGBV in collaboration with ASC and SELP; strengthening the social protection and referral system for SGBV survivors and strengthening birth registration system to combat child marriage and child labour etc. The designated person will closely work with different partner Programme/Enterprises to identify and implement advocacy agenda and connect them with wider national agenda to influence policy around women empowerment, Gender Equality and PVAWG. S/ he will also closely work with Advocacy for Social Change (ASC) and central communication of BRAC. S/he will also lead the rolling out of a PVAW pilot at the community level, as well as national level PVAW campaign, and will supervise and monitor to develop the pilot further to make that most effective for eventual countrywide implementation.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and provide technical support in developing and implementing viable advocacy, communication work plans for GJD and PVAW in line with BRAC Gender Strategy.
∎ Develop result-based advocacy strategies relevant with gender integration initiative in sectoral programmes and enterprises.
∎ Define strategies in collaboration with Advocacy for Social Change to promote gender equality in line with BRAC Gender Strategy.
∎ Lead issue based advocacy such as: strengthening public prosecution system to end impunity for SGBV in collaboration with ASC and SELP; social protection and referral system for SGBV survivors and strengthening birth registration system to combat child marriage and child labour.
∎ Develop policy briefs/position papers on gender within organization, programmes, as well as at national level through a process of critical analysis and reflection.
∎ Represent GJD for high level policy advocacy, negotiate and lobby with relevant ministries directorates and strategic partners and represent BRAC in different national, regional and international meetings/workshops/ seminars.
∎ Develop and maintain partnership with right based organization/platforms/alliances and CSOs to promote social movements /campaigns focused on VAWG, Child Marriage, and Engage Men and Boys (EMB).
∎ Representing BRAC to over 10 gender related national coalitions and networks, such as Girls Not Brides, National Girl Child Advocacy Forum, Engaging Men and Boys Network and Rape Law Reform Coalition.
∎ Lead documenting best practices, lesson learned, documents and experiences on gender aspects for effective advocacy.
∎ Lead BRAC's observation of key gender related days and events (Women's Day, Girl Child Day, 16 Days of Activism) for promoting gender justice.
∎ Prepare detailed budget for Advocacy, communication and PVAW initiatives.
∎ Provide technical support to develop IEC/BCC gender advocacy materials and capacity building of popular mass movement in line with BRAC Gender Strategy across BRAC Program.
∎ Strategic lead towards the use of media (print, electronic and social) to communicate with larger people to advance a gender focused social and public policy to influence attitude and behavioral change.
∎ Provide strategic leadership in design, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance according to the expected outcomes, goals and objectives of the PVAW initiative, which includes a pilot project and national campaign, and ensure quality progress reporting.
∎ Initiate the process of implementing evidence based gender advocacy through close collaboration with KM, M&E and Gender Integration.

∎ Proficiency in Bangla and in English communication.
∎ Strong linkage and networking with forums/influential actors.
∎ Time management, leadership, analytical ability, Multitasking, Facilitation, presentation skill and report writing.
∎ Experience in Policy Advocacy , communication.
∎ Good network with different forums, electronic and print Medias.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to successfully manage complex and sensitive organizational relationships to achieve cross-organizational, collectively agreed goals.
∎ Minimum 08 years of experience in relevant field.
