Education:

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a quality control role, preferably in food or fish processing.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
  • Attention to detail and strong observational skills.Basic knowledge of microbiological and chemical testing.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Familiarity with MS Office for record-keeping.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in cold storage and wet processing areas.
  • Must be willing to wear safety and hygiene gear as required.
  • Flexibility to work shifts as per production schedules.


Responsibilities & Context:
  • Inspect incoming raw fish materials to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Monitor all stages of the processing line, from raw material handling to packaging, to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations (appearance, texture, smell) and physical tests on fish products.
  • Ensure correct temperature control at various stages (storage, processing, freezing).
  • Assist with microbiological or chemical testing, as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, ISO) and company policies.
  • Support audits and inspections by external regulatory bodies.
  • Identify quality issues and report non-conformance promptly to the Senior QC Officer.
  • Assist in investigating root causes of defects and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards and hygiene practices.
  • Communicate quality issues and updates to relevant departments clearly and effectively.
