Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fisheries
    • Diploma in Fisheries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Fisheries, Microbiology, or a related field.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in a fish processing or food production environment.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, and other food safety standards.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with local and international food safety regulations and quality management systems.


Responsibilities & Context:
  • Supervise and monitor product quality at every stage of the processing chain.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and other food safety standards.
  • Conduct product sampling, testing, and inspection to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
  • Maintain records of all QC activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to the management team.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and product traceability documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and assist in internal and external audits, including BRC and other third-party certifications.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformance issues.
  • Supervise junior QC staff and provide necessary guidance and support.
  • Conduct training sessions on quality control procedures and food safety standards.
  • Ensure adherence to personal hygiene and safety protocols among the team.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies as required.
  • Monitor equipment calibration and ensure proper functioning of QC tools and devices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated on new regulations, industry trends, and best practices in fish processing and quality management.
