Responsibilities & Context:

• Semen Collection

Collect semen from breeding bulls following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and animal welfare guidelines.

• Bull Health Monitoring

Observe bulls daily for signs of illness, injury, stress, or reproductive problems and report concerns promptly.

• Bull Handling and Safety

Safely restrain, move, and manage bulls during collection, exercise, weighing, and veterinary procedures.

• Shed Management

Ensure bull sheds, collection areas, and surrounding facilities remain clean, hygienic, and well-maintained.

• Feeding and Watering Supervision

Monitor feed distribution, water availability, and adherence to nutrition programs for all bulls.

• Record Keeping

Maintain accurate records of semen collections, bull performance, health treatments, feed intake, and inventory.

• Biosecurity Compliance

Implement and monitor biosecurity measures to prevent disease introduction and spread within the station.

• Equipment and Facility Maintenance

Inspect and maintain collection equipment, dummy mounts, weighing scales, and other station facilities.

• Staff Supervision

Coordinate and supervise animal attendants and shed workers to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.

• Quality and Welfare Assurance

Support semen quality objectives while ensuring high standards of animal welfare, safety, and regulatory compliance
