Job Summary:

Nourish Poultry and Hatchery Ltd. is looking for a qualified and experienced Assistant Manager – Pullet & Layer Farm Operations to supervise and manage both pullet rearing/nursing and commercial layer farm operations.

The candidate must have hands-on experience in managing pullet birds from receiving/placement through the growing stage and successful transfer to layer houses, as well as managing layer birds throughout the production cycle. The role will focus on flock health, growth and uniformity, feeding, vaccination, medication, biosecurity, egg production, mortality control, and overall farm efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pullet and layer flocks, including chick/pullet receiving, brooding/nursing, growing, transfer, laying and production stages.

  • Monitor body weight, flock uniformity, feed intake, water consumption, mortality, FCR and egg production performance against breed standards.

  • Ensure proper vaccination, medication, disease prevention, biosecurity, farm hygiene and sanitation.

  • Ensure proper pullet development and readiness for transfer to layer houses, including target body weight, uniformity and flock health.

  • Supervise feeding, watering, lighting programs, culling, grading, egg collection, handling and storage.

  • Monitor ventilation, temperature, humidity, climate-control systems and poultry equipment to maintain optimum environmental conditions.

  • Identify abnormal flock behaviour, health or production issues and coordinate timely corrective actions with the technical team.

  • Maintain proper inventory and consumption records for feed, medicines, vaccines, disinfectants and other farm materials.

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly production, MIS and flock performance reports.

  • Coordinate closely with Technical, Feed, Laboratory, Vaccine, Maintenance and other relevant teams.

  • Supervise farm manpower, allocate duties, monitor performance and provide necessary training to farm personnel.

  • Ensure strict implementation of farm SOPs, biosecurity protocols and operational standards.

  • Maintain good working relationships with local leaders, vendors, service providers and the surrounding community.

  • Control feed, electricity, medicine, labour and other operational costs while maintaining flock performance and welfare.

  • Analyze flock performance and take appropriate actions to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability.
