Responsibilities & Context:

Alam Garments is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior Designer to join its Design & Product Development team for its retail kidswear brands, Cozy Cub and Alam's Baby Wear. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and apparel design, along with hands-on experience in designing products for retail clothing brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal fashion concepts, mood boards, and design ideas aligned with market trends.

• Create garment sketches, technical drawings, and specification sheets.

• Research fashion trends, colors, fabrics, trims, and silhouettes.

• Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure smooth product development.

• Prepare artwork, prints, embroidery placements, and design presentations.

• Assist in sample development, fitting sessions, and design modifications.

• Ensure designs meet brand identity, quality standards, and commercial requirements.

• Maintain design documentation and product development records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2–4 years of experience as a Fashion/Apparel Designer with a retail kidswear clothing brand.

• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and apparel manufacturing.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software.

• Excellent sense of color, fashion trends, and commercial product development.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple collections simultaneously.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing for kidswear retail brands is a must.

• Exposure to local or international fashion retail markets.

• Knowledge of print, embroidery, and wash developments will be an added advantage.
