Education:

A diploma or bachelor`s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Familiarity with operating Systems: Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.

• Understanding of LAN/WAN configurations, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.

• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and basic database queries (SQL).

• Understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, etc.

• Capacity to provide hardware support, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, and academic platforms (e.g., Moodle Blackboard), and remote support tools.

• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, antivirus software, and secure access protocols.

• Experience with virtual machines and remote desktop environments.

• Previous experience in IT support or technical services is desirable.

• Previous experience in an academic or educational environment is highly desirable.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for IT, Software Engineering, and Cyber Security degree programmes.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and demonstrations as required.
• Support faculty with classroom technologies, including projectors, smart boards, and lecture capture systems.
• Assist students with access to learning platforms and academic software.
• Ensure lab equipment and software are properly configured and maintained.
• Respond to service requests from faculty, staff, and students.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Maintain records of support requests and resolutions.
• Track and manage academic IT equipment inventory.
• Liaise with academic faculty across UCBD and partner institutions to understand and anticipate IT needs.
• Participate in orientations and training sessions for new users.
• Provide feedback on system performance and suggest improvements.
