Previous experience as a Librarian in an academic institution is highly desirable.
Thorough knowledge of library management systems and cataloging tools would be an advantage.
A strong understanding of day-to-day library management, organisational principles for collections and resources, and modern library practices.
Familiarity with current standards, trends and technologies in library services in higher education.
Proficiency in library management systems and the use of cataloging tools.
Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Library users, faculty colleagues and representatives of partner institutions.
A commitment to providing high levels of customer service to Library users.
Ability to display initiative and anticipate the changing needs of Library users.
Time management skills and the capacity to work independently.
A collegiate approach and collaboration with faculty, colleagues and students.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Budget management and project management skills.

Major Responsibilities
Establish a collection of books, both online and onshelf, to support the delivery of partner programs.
Select and purchase a diverse range of books, publications, and other reading materials that align with the academic needs and general interests of the UCBD community.
Identify suitable online resources to support teaching and learning for the programs offered by the College.
Ensure the Library is open during operating hours.
Ensure all Library users can easily access and utilise physical Library resources during the hours of operation, and access online resources at any time.
Ensure that Library services are provided within budget and identify any areas where savings may be made or more resourcing may be needed.
Maintain new and existing resources within budgetary constraints and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers.
