PI implements practical education and skills-based programs in partnership with national and international stakeholders, with a strong focus on students, youth, volunteers, schools, and underserved communities.

Job Context

The IT Officer will provide technical support to school computer labs, smart classrooms, and technology-aided education activities under PI’s digital skills program. The position will be responsible for maintaining ICT equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting teachers, monitoring student training activities, and ensuring smooth operation of computer literacy and digital learning programs at field level.

The selected candidate will work closely with the program team, school authorities, trainers, teachers, students, vendors, and local stakeholders to ensure that computer labs remain functional, teachers receive necessary hands-on support, and student training is properly monitored and reported.

Role Purpose

The IT Officer will ensure effective technical operation of school-based computer labs and digital learning facilities. S/he will provide regular field-level technical support, train and guide teachers, monitor student training sessions, maintain hardware and software systems, and support the organization in improving the quality and continuity of ICT-based education activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide regular technical support to school computer labs, smart classrooms, and ICT-based learning facilities.

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, routers, operating systems, basic software, and other ICT equipment.

  • Identify technical problems in school computer labs and coordinate timely repair, replacement, or maintenance support.

  • Train teachers on basic computer operation, classroom use of ICT equipment, computer lab management, and digital content use.

  • Provide hands-on support to teachers so they can conduct ICT classes and technology-aided learning sessions effectively.

  • Monitor student computer literacy training, attendance, batch progress, completion status, and practical learning activities.

  • Visit schools regularly to check computer lab functionality, student training quality, teacher engagement, and equipment status.

  • Ability to take basic photos and videos for school or event documentation and reporting.

  • Ability to perform basic graphic design and video editing tasks.

  • Prepare field visit reports, technical assessment reports, maintenance records, training updates, and student training monitoring reports.

  • Maintain updated inventory of ICT equipment, accessories, repair history, software status, and school-wise lab condition.

  • Support setup and maintenance of internet connectivity, classroom display systems, backup power systems, and related devices where required.

  • Assist in organizing teacher orientation, student training sessions, assessments, certificate-related data, and follow-up activities.

  • Coordinate with school authorities, trainers, local vendors, and program staff for smooth implementation of field-level activities.

  • Ensure proper use, safety, and care of ICT equipment at school level through regular guidance and follow-up.

  • Provide basic digital documentation support, including data entry, photo documentation, online forms, and program databases where needed.

  • Report field-level challenges, risks, training gaps, equipment needs, and improvement recommendations to the program team.

  • Participate in extensive field visits as required by the program.

Reporting Line

  • Reports to: Senior IT Officer, Progress through Innovation Society (PI).

Field Visit Requirement

  • Approximately 80% field visit is required. The candidate must be willing to travel frequently to schools and program locations.
