  • Capacity to conduct desk research and synthesize information.
  • Basic knowledge of project cycle management (PCM), logical frameworks and MEAL concepts is an advantage.

Position Overview:

The Intern - Proposal Development, Documentation and Reporting will play a crucial role in strengthening the organisation’s documentation, reporting, proposal writing and knowledge management functions across all projects within the Programme Division. This position will support the programme team in capturing, organizing and presenting accurate and meaningful information that reflects the impact of Muslim Hands International Bangladesh’s initiatives.

The Intern – Proposal Development, Documentation and Reporting will assist the programme team in developing high-quality project proposals, concept notes, reports and documentation for ongoing and upcoming initiatives. The role aims to enhance organisational capacity in donor/HQ engagement, knowledge management and communication. The intern will gain practical experience in the humanitarian and development sector, working closely with technical leads, MEAL teams and field staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about development work and eager to gain hands-on experience in documentation, reporting, and development communications. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with an eye for detail, a commitment to accuracy and a desire to support impactful humanitarian programmes.

Type of appointment: Short-term contract (for 6 Months), which is renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of the requirement.

Reporting Supervisor: Programme Coordinator and SMT

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proposal Development & Donor Engagement

  • Support in drafting and formatting concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and full proposals for donors.
  • Assist in collecting relevant project information, data, field inputs and supporting documents required for proposal development.
  • Conduct basic desk research on thematic areas, donor priorities and contextual information.
  • Assist in proofreading and editing proposals to ensure clarity, quality and compliance with donor guidelines.
  • Help maintain a donor and proposal pipeline tracking tool.

2. Reporting & Documentation

  • Support the preparation of high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports.
  • Assist with consolidating field-level updates, indicator progress, photos, case studies and success stories.
  • Help draft documentation for monitoring visits, stakeholder meetings, activities and events.
  • Ensure reports meet internal quality standards and donor-specific formats.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation (soft and hard copies).

3. Knowledge Management & Learning

  • Support the creation and updating of knowledge products such as briefs, fact sheets, project profiles and presentations.
  • Help organize internal learning sessions, workshops and after-action reviews.
  • Contribute to developing stories of change, human-interest stories and communication materials.

4. Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Liaise with programme, MEAL, finance and operations teams to gather required information.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, taking minutes and following up on tasks with relevant departments.
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support programme development and grants management
