Job Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 focusing upazila on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox`s Bazar is looking for suitable candidates for the following positions for immediate appointment as well as to prepare panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above positions are given below for your information.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Proficient in the use of ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and Online, MS Window and MS Office programs.
∎ Collect data from Project areas as per need process and use properly the collected data, prepare the software properly for analysis the data for GIS.
∎ Prepare GIS reports/map/document and submit properly and timely to higher authorities, Govt. Office and respective agencies.
∎ Plans a schedule of DRR activity implementation according to the project's Detailed Implementation Plan and ensure implementation. Notifies respective staff of any deviations from the plan or needed adjustments.
∎ Coordinate with the DRR Team for technical community mapping support.
∎ Together with the field team, ensure smooth information flow from the field to the office. As needed, prepare update all of the data.
∎ Maintain database of key information and documents (e.g. Drive) and staff communication channels (e,g. Google Groups.
∎ Provides technical assistance to facilitator of community members in risk, vulnerability hazard and asset mapping.
∎ Plot physical Majhi site boundary lines and digitizing Focus Group Discussion results regarding proposed community facilities, latrines, water points roads, drainages and perceived hazards.
∎ Compiles household and/or Majhi level maps into combined zone and/or camp level map.
∎ Quickly receive and process information to assess a rapidly evolving situation and ability to make timely decisions.
∎ Ability to make decisions consistent with the values of the organization and the established delivery plan.
∎ Can work independently and result oriented.
∎ Proactively identify issues, involve appropriate stakeholders, and facilitate and implement timely solutions.
∎ Can work in sensitive and high security environments.
∎ Willing to travel extensively on different locations or even on a short notice.
∎ Ability to build relationships and work with stakeholders on multiple levels including nongovernment organizations, donors, media groups, religious groups and government units.
∎ Strong skills in developing organizational and community capacity including institutional strengthening, mentoring and coaching.
∎ Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Minimum 02 years of experience in GIS. Experience in working in emergency programs strongly preferred.
∎ Trained in GIS management and technology.
∎ Experience with DRR is preferred
∎ Knows how to use GPS data collection devices (e.g. Garmin, Trimble, etc.)
∎ Experience implementing DRR projects preferred.
∎ Ability to work with local and international agencies.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and training skills.
∎ Speaking ability in Chattogram local dialect a plus.
∎ Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.
∎ Should be fluent in communication both in writing and speaking in English language
∎ Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team.
∎ Should have "can do' attitude and able to handle multiple tasks managing priorities.
∎ Committed to work following organizational aims, values, principal and policies.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
∎ Age: Maximum 40 years (as on 30.04.2021)

Salary:
∎ 30,000 BDT (Consolidated) per month.
