As the Fabric Manager, you will be responsible to BENCHMARK -DEFINE, ASSURE & IMPROVISE aspects of Fabric Quality.
BENCHMARK-DEFINE:
Organization’s Fabric Standards and Testing Criteria.
Contribute to Chemical Management Policy in line EU /ZDHC norms.
Define Chemical management assessment matrix.
SOP for Color Management and Color Continuity across production lots.
Define Fabric Library - Unique ID for each Fabric - Virtual and Physical.
Build Fabric Technical Parameter’s sheet - covering Yarn, Fabric, finishing.
Define Fabric Inspection SOP across process - Yarn /Greige /Dye & Print & Finishing.
Define Vendor capability assessment matrix.
Organizational vision to deliver bigger, better & value supply chain.
ASSURE /EXECUTE:
Technical support on any fabric issue, starting from sourcing, development, sampling, base test, lab-dip/strike-off/handloom, bulk testing, appearance, handle and color approval, garment washing, garment dyeing, etc.
Implement chemical management policy and Chemical management Audits and Corrective actions to drive.
Give a specific report format where the supplier’s QA team record all information for knitting quality (m/c gauge, stitch length, yarn count, feeders).
Color Continuity to ensure - each lot to be evaluated.
Ensure Production plan execution in line with Critical path to respect HOD - Hand over date.
Active involvement for First Bulk production & Special fabrics.
Define Performing Vendor mapping and actions to drive.
Analysis test reports from Fabric Mill, 3rdParty lab, and buyer in-house lab to follow up with supplier for performance and take appropriate action for the low performer.
Knitting parameters are changing on the test report, previous data analysis, and potential risk for any specific knit fabric if required (e.g. GSM, Spirality, Shrinkage, etc).
Conducting technical training and presentation for suppliers and internal colleagues on quality and process.
Responsible for proper documentation and reporting of fabric inspection, shrinkage, shade, and washing appearances.
IMPROVISE:
Continual Improvement of Fabric Process optimization for Better Value.
Optimize process efficiency at each level of Fabric Production.
Best Practice mapping and sharing for value across Vendor panel.
Sustainability focused fabric range proposal.
Competitor benchmark for creating better value fabrics, finishes, & aesthetics.
Adopt with Industry innovations and employ them for value creation.
