Experience:
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance of port equipment, material handling systems, or heavy industrial machinery.
Valid professional engineering certification (preferred). Relevant technical certifications in PLC programming and electrical safety
Required Soft & hard skills for the role.
Expert level: PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning (Siemens, Yaskawa, Schneider, or similar)
Advanced: VFD drives configuration and commissioning
Proficient in: Electrical fault diagnosis and rapid resolution
Power distribution systems (LV/MV)
Motor control circuits and protection systems
Electrical instrumentation and control panels
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Strong leadership and team management abilities

Technical Management
• Oversee all electrical maintenance for port equipment including cranes, RTGs, reach stackers, forklifts, and other handling units.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to reduce downtime.
• Ensure proper functioning and troubleshooting of PLC systems and VFD drives.
• Lead commissioning of PLC CPUs and VFD installations.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Review and approve electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Stay updated on new electrical technologies and best practices.
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Conduct training to enhance technical skills and promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Manage task allocation, performance monitoring, and shift schedules including emergency response coverage.
Planning & Budgeting
• Prepare and manage the electrical maintenance budget.
• Forecast and maintain optimal spare parts inventory.
• Develop cost-effective maintenance strategies and ensure expense control.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all electrical activities meet safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain compliance with port authority and environmental requirements.
Reporting & Documentation
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage.
• Prepare reports on performance, downtime analysis, and maintenance KPIs.
• Coordinate with operations to plan maintenance within optimal windows.
