Job Purpose:
The Engineer will assist the Project Supervisor in managing construction activities and performing project control functions, including scheduling, cost monitoring, procurement, material management, quality assurance, documentation, and site supervision to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain project schedules, submittal logs, progress reports, and construction documentation in line with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, safety requirements, project schedules, and specifications.
Coordinate with project supervisors, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
Review and manage approved drawings, submittals, specifications, addenda, and contractual documents, ensuring timely communication of changes to relevant stakeholders.
Support project controls through preparation of change requests, cost estimates, payment applications, work measurements, bills, and other contractual documentation.
Coordinate construction meetings, prepare minutes, track action points, and follow up on key project issues and bottlenecks.
Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance, productivity, deliverables, work quality, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Monitor construction materials and inventory, verify the quality and quantity of deliveries, and ensure timely requisition and proper documentation of project materials.
Liaise with government inspectors and regulatory authorities to facilitate compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, and safety requirements.
Maintain comprehensive project records, including technical, contractual, material, and inventory documentation, and ensure proper project close-out and handover.
Support the implementation of project safety and security measures and promote a safe working environment at project sites.
Monitor project staffing requirements and support staff performance and employee relations matters in coordination with the Project Supervisor and management.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
