Responsibilities & Context:
∎ We seek an experienced and creative Designer/Product Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will:
∎ Collaborate directly with the customer’s design team to understand seasonal requirements and provide innovative design solutions that align with their brand identity and goals.
∎ Possess in-depth knowledge of woven fabrics, including fiber content, construction dyeing processes and finishing techniques (mechanical and chemical), to develop fabrics that meet aesthetic and performance needs.
∎ Work closely with internal and external fabric mills in source, select and develop fabrics suitable for the brand's target market.
∎ Utilize design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D sample development tools to create professional, high-quality designs.
∎ Conduct research using tools like WGSN and other resources to analyse market trends, understand brand-specific requirements and tailor designs to target customer segments and pricing strategies.
∎ The selected candidate will primarily work on woven garments, including denim and non-denim bottoms, shirts and outerwear.
∎ Responsibilities include:
∎ Researching current fashion trends to anticipate customer preferences.
∎ Developing innovative sketches and creating detailed tech packs for production.
∎ Test and select fabrics, trims, colours, patterns and textures for designs.
∎ Overseeing prototype development and finings and ensuring production quality.
∎ Prepared cost sheets and product specifications and provided detailed presentations of CAD sketches.
∎ Create mood boards and lead seasonal collections to meat design briefs.
∎ Maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth design and production processes.
∎ Communicating technical design information to ensure customer satisfaction and timely sample delivery.
