Job Context:
∎ The Bhasan Char camp opened a new chapter in the world for the support to refugees in Bangladesh. Bhasan Char is a new island of Bangladesh situated in the deep sea with distance of 28 nautical miles West from Patenga of Chattogram and 21 nautical miles South from Noakhali district. The area of the island is 26 Sq. Km. and within the embankment, the land area is about 7 Sq. Km. For the relocation of refugees from the Cox`s Bazar, the Govt. of Bangladesh established the Bhasan Char Camp in 2020. For up-scaling the livelihood and self-reliance opportunities for the refugees in Bhasan Char, with the support of UNHCR, NGO Forum is its skills and livelihoods services for the refugees living in Bhasan Char.
∎ Primarily the project target will be selecting 200 PoCs from 200 household based on a set criteria. The selected beneficiaries will get hands on training on handy crafts, fabrics production, hand weaving textile production, embroidery, as per assessing their preliminary expertise. After the training, the beneficiary will be supported by required sewing machine, hand loom, raw materials etc. They will be assigned regular based home target to achieve the specific target.
∎ The job location will be at Bhashan Char.
∎ The duration of the contract will be until December 31, 2023.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in designing new product especially handcrafted product
∎ To ensure the quality of the product.
∎ Ensure day to day monitoring of the production & ensure reporting to the line manager.
∎ Assist line supervisor during production planning.
∎ Ensure the wellbeing of production volunteer.
∎ Support in training content development.
∎ Generate different types of design of the product.
∎ Facilitate training to technical volunteers on new product.
∎ Maintain display board with new different product.
∎ Contribute ideas for the development and design of new trainings.
∎ Assist in production & arrange production worker activity based on target.
∎ Ensure logistical support during production & training.
∎ Assist in cutting & sewing to develop products properly.
∎ Any other task assigned by the project management unit.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Previous experience in product design and production will get priority
∎ Fluency in local language will get priority.
∎ Females are encouraged to apply.
Salary: Tk. 50000 (Monthly)
