Educational Requirements:
∎ Master in Social science/ Development Studies/ Disaster Management/ Climate Change/ Environmental Sciences, Economics or related subjects from any reputed University with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations. No 3rd division/ class or equivalent CGPA is acceptable
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct literature reviews, primary and secondary data collection and analysis, information gathering and interpretation, develop bibliographies, including preparation of citation and reference and prepare papers/concept notes on climate change issues as per programme need keeping mainstreaming climate change at BRAC as a major focus
∎ Drafting concept notes, presentations, Vulnerability Maps, ToRs, and other documents; assist and coordinate the consultants hired by Climate Change Programme as and when needed
∎ Support to coordinate various knowledge sharing and advocacy initiative to assure understanding and visibility of the project, Support to organize awareness, advocacy and result sharing/ dissemination events inside and outside BRAC.
∎ Mapping and assessment report of existing BRAC climate actions and livelihood assistance, socio-economic aspect, describing ways in which they are integrated into the sub-national development planning process focusing BRAC Programmes
∎ Support the programme development and grants management team through providing write up, concepts, data, analysis as appropriate
∎ Assist programme management in strengthening institutional capacity building initiatives, promote and mainstream "climate resilience" in 'climate change hotspots' through collaboration with appropriate BRAC programmes
∎ Regularly monitor and keep an overview on national and international climate change science, adaptation, mitigation, and resilience enhancing innovations
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years in relevant field is required
∎ Knowledge on research specially on climate change science, mitigation, adaptation
∎ Knowledge on the global, regional, national policies on climate change actions
∎ Excellent written and oral communications skills
∎ Computer proficiency
∎ Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
∎ Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to develop networks and collaborations
∎ Ability to carry our assigned tasks independently
