Experience Requirements:
∎ 3 to 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions.
∎ Design ERD and create scripts and triggers to support application development
∎ Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
∎ Provide timely scheduled management reporting
∎ Prepare documentation and specifications for major operations.
∎ Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
∎ Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
∎ Developing SQL queries and procedures, creating custom reports, and enhancing organizational productivity
∎ Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configuration
∎ Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
∎ Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
∎ Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
∎ Monitor and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
∎ Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
∎ Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
∎ Develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans
∎ Work closely with IT project managers, database programmers and multimedia programmers
∎ Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 30 years
∎ Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, MongoDB and PostgreSQL
∎ Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL
∎ Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
∎ Experience with replication configuration in MySQL Enterprise
∎ Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL Enterprise
∎ Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
∎ Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler, Enterprise Backup
∎ Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications
