Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Meal Preparation: Prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) as per the planned menu, considering dietary requirements and preferences of the residents.
∎ Menu Planning: Assist in planning nutritious and balanced menus in collaboration with the Shelter Home Manager/ Center Manager and a nutritionist.
∎ Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure all meals are prepared and served in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
∎ Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory, including food supplies, utensils, and equipment. Monitor stock levels and report needs for replenishment in a timely manner.
∎ Budget Adherence: Work within the allocated food budget, ensuring cost-effective meal preparation without compromising on quality and nutrition.
∎ Special Dietary Needs: Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions of residents, such as allergies, medical conditions, and cultural preferences.
∎ Training and Supervision: Train and supervise kitchen assistants and volunteers, ensuring they adhere to kitchen protocols and hygiene standards.
∎ Waste Management: Implement and follow proper waste management practices in the kitchen to minimize food wastage.
∎ Record Keeping: Maintain records of meal plans, food inventory, and kitchen expenses. Provide regular reports to the Shelter Home Manager.
∎ Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies in the kitchen, such as equipment failure or foodborne illnesses, and report them immediately to the Shelter Home Manager.
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 37 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Rights & Governance (R&G) is considered as one of the cross-cutting sectors of DAM dedicated toward the right-based developmental approach. DAM is going to implement the project “Enhancing Protection of Child Sex Trafficking Survivors in Bangladesh Project” in Dhaka, and Jashore district funded by the United States Department of State with the support of Freedom Fund and looking for the following position:
∎ Location: Shelter Home, Jashore and KANAN, Dhaka
∎ Reporting to: Shelter Home Manager and Center Manager
∎ Objective: To provide high-quality and nutritious meals to the residents of the Shelter Home, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
