Job Context:
∎ As the Communication Specialist for the World Bank-funded Plastic Waste Collection and Recycling Project, you will be at the forefront of promoting environmental sustainability and safety in the project. Your role will involve creating and managing the project`s online presence, driving engagement, and raising awareness about the Recycle Bottle Collection Hubs and the important risk assessment and mitigation program related to SEA, SH, and GBV. Your contributions will be vital to the success of this environmentally significant initiative.
∎ BPCL has pioneered the concept of creating worth out of waste in Bangladesh being the first and only post-consumer food grade PET bottle to bottle recycling plant in the nation. Till date, BPCL has contributed to recycling over 1,800,000,000 (180 crore) used PET bottles, preventing them from getting dumped into the ground/river/drain, reducing 25,000 tons of Green House Gas emissions. BPCL`s bottle collection supply chain has provided an income to 35,000 waste pickers by procuring BDT 1 billion (100 crore) worth of discarded PET bottles.
∎ Project Overview:
∎ The primary objective of the project is to formalize the Plastic Recycling Value Chain to ensure the steady collection of recyclable plastic (RP) removing them from environment by establishing "collection hubs" or recycling business units (RBUs) across Bangladesh. These RBUs will facilitate the transportation, storage, and processing of plastic waste.
∎ The Project is co-funded by the World Bank and Parley for the Oceans and implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Program (SACEP), supported by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and maintain the project's online presence, including the project website and social media platforms.
∎ Create engaging and informative content to promote project objectives and milestones.
∎ Monitor and manage online community engagement and respond to inquiries.
∎ Create and curate high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, videos, and graphics, related to plastic waste collection, recycling, and environmental conservation.
∎ Ensure content is engaging, informative, and aligns with the project's goals.
∎ Plan and execute awareness campaigns to inform the public, local communities, and project participants about the Recycle Bottle Collection Hubs and the SEA/SH/GBV risk assessment and mitigation program.
∎ Utilize various online and offline channels to reach a wide audience.
∎ Manage and grow the project's presence on social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
∎ Monitor social media trends and engage with the online community.
∎ Analyze and report on social media performance and engagement metrics.
∎ Foster relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, partner organizations, and project participants, through effective online communication.
∎ Address inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Additional Requirements:

∎ Proven experience in spontaneous engagement on various social media platforms.
∎ Demonstrated dedication to working at the field level, actively involved in collecting images and content related to plastic waste management.
∎ Ability to align communication strategies with project goals and Innovative and creative thinking in developing communication materials.
∎ Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
∎ Preferred From Social Communication and other related fields.
∎ Strong passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
∎ Proven experience in creating and managing online content, including blogging.
∎ Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices for engagement.
∎ Excellent writing and content creation skills.
∎ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
∎ Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
∎ Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
∎ Proficiency in content management systems and social media management tools.
Salary: Tk. 25000 - 45000 (Monthly)
