Position Summary
The Chief Engineer (Infrastructure Development) is responsible for leading, planning, executing, and supervising all civil engineering and infrastructure development works of the organization. The role ensures timely delivery of projects with high quality, cost efficiency, compliance with engineering standards, and safety regulations. The position oversees roads, utilities, drainage, structural works, land development, and all associated infrastructure facilities.
Key Responsibilities
A. Planning & Project Management
Prepare master plans, work schedules, and execution strategies for infrastructure development projects.
Review and approve engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and cost estimates.
Develop project timelines, milestones, procurement plans, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and government agencies for approvals and execution.
B. Engineering & Technical Oversight
Lead the design, implementation, and supervision of infrastructure components:
Road & highway construction
Sewerage and drainage systems
Water supply & sanitation networks
Land development & earthwork
Electrical, utility distribution & underground services (as applicable)
Conduct technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
Ensure projects comply with BNBC, ACI, ASTM, and other relevant codes and standards.
C. Construction Supervision & Quality Control
Monitor daily progress and ensure proper workmanship, materials usage, and construction quality.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical audits.
Ensure adherence to quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures.
Verify contractor bills, work measurements, and certify progress payments.
D. Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and guide project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, and technical teams.
Conduct briefings, training, and performance evaluations of engineering staff.
Resolve technical challenges, design discrepancies, and site-level conflicts.
E. Financial & Contractual Management
Prepare project budgets and monitor cost control measures.
Verify tender documents, evaluate bids, and assist Procurement/Commercial departments.
Ensure contractor compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and project timelines.
F. Compliance, Safety & Reporting
Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain coordination with RAJUK, City Corporation, WASA, DESCO/REB, and other statutory authorities.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and special project progress reports for top management
