Skills Required: Additional Requirements: - A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in the community outreach programme, engaging in the community particularly for the persons with disability, people affected with Leprosy or any other marginalized communities. Proven track record of designing & conducting training, facilitating sessions and conducting awareness programmes.
- Basic understanding on marginalization, exclusion and inclusion.
- Basic understanding on human rights, rural development landscape/scenario in the context of Bangladesh.
- Good communication and facilitation skills.
- Good listening and speaking skill.
- Must be attentive and a good learner.
- Ability to engage with diverse groups, including families, children, and community stakeholders.
- Record-keeping and reporting skills in Bangla.
- Computer skills: Good skills in MS Office -word, and power-point, Bangla type and familiar with Internet.
- Motorcycle with a valid license is preferred but is not a must.
- Having a Smart Phone is a requirement for online data input, when required.
- Women and Persons with disabilities will get special consideration based on their qualification and experience.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Context :
CTW is planning to recruit a CBR Facilitator for the project titled “Meaningful Participation of Youth with Disabilities/affected by leprosy (aged 12-25).” supported by the Liliane Foundation (LF)& CDD.
The CBR facilitator will be directly involved with the youths at the community to support meaningful participation of youth with disabilities including youths affected by leprosy. The main tasks of this role are facilitating training, workshops, sessions for youths in the community as per predesigned topics, engagement with relevant local actors and the community to facilitate increased inclusion of the youths with disabilities and those affected by Leprosy, nurture a good relation with family of the identified youths, prepare stories of changes, advocating for an enabling and safe space for youths with disabilities and youths affected by leprosy to combat stigma and discrimination.
Project Name: “Meaningful Participation of Youth with Disabilities/affected by leprosy (aged 12-25).”
Responsibilities:
- To identify youths with disabilities and youths affected with leprosy in the community as per project requirements.
- To support the formation of youth groups at project location, in consultation with relevant community stakeholders
- To support in coordinating meetings of youth clubs with efficiency and effectively engaging all youth club members.
- To facilitate sessions for the youths on relevant topics as mentioned in the project.
- Ensure that sessions and discussions are organized and facilitated, in an excellent learning environment and has ensured quality.
- Preparing meeting and session outlines for each meeting and sessions of the youth clubs.
- To prepare event reports after each meeting and sessions of the youth clubs.
- To independently organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, courtyard meetings whenever required.
- Work closely with CBR Officer and other relevant staff for effective coordination of project activities.
- To be well acquainted with each family members of the youths, maintain a good relationship through performing regular visits to the family and engage in quality interaction with family members.
- To understand challenges of the youths due to their disability and leprosy status that prevents their meaningful participation in society.
- To support youths to identify strategy and areas of meaningful participation
- Collect feedback from the community about the impact of the work in a prescribed format and share the document.
- To assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports, as required by the project and respective organizations.
- To extend support for the safety of youth team members from any harm, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve project outcomes.
- Ensure safeguarding, code of conductand data privacy is maintained as per requirements.
- Build relationships and network with Union Councils, and relevant Sub-district offices.
- Work closely with Union Councils to include Youths with disabilities and those Youths affected by Leprosy in Ward Meetings, Open Budget and other relevant meetings and to include disability and leprosy agenda in Standing Committee meetings.
- Build strong relationship with health and leprosy actors, including community clinics, sub-district health complex, leprosy corner and other service providers.
- Facilitate referrals of youths with leprosy and disabilities for services to health and other service providers.
- Organize local workshops, meetings, and orientations at community for more access and inclusion of youth with disabilities and youths affected with leprosy.
- Safeguarding responsibilities:
- Adhere to CTW Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
