• Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management, with a focus on Gender Based Violence (GBV)

• Proven experience in providing psychosocial support and survivor-centered care.

• Experience working in a humanitarian or development setting, particularly in a multi-sectoral context.

• Familiarity with interagency guidelines and sector-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for GBV response. Professional experience in counselling and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women’s rights/groups – highly desirable

• Clear understanding of GBV guiding principles, gender, human rights, issues surrounding violence against women and girls.

• Knowledge of foundational concepts in relation to GBV guiding principles and Protection mainstreaming (IASC Protection Policy, Sphere Standards, Child Protection Minimum Standards, ICRC Professional Protection Standards, GBV Standard Operating Procedures; IASC GBV3Guidelines; IASC Gender Handbook; WHO Ethical and Safety Recommendations for Researching, Documenting and Monitoring Sexual Violence in Emergencies; Camp Management Toolkit etc.)

• Skilled in counselling and/or case management

• Knowledge and skill

• Good report writing and presentation skill will be added value.

• Computer skills (MS-word, MS-excel), monitoring skill using Kobo Toolkits or CommCare will add value.)

• Knowledge of participatory approaches and community-based development principles.

• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.

• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust and rapport with community members.

• Good facilitation, Strong interpersonal communication, good influencing skills.

• Languages: Proficiency in English and Bengali. Knowledge of Chittagonian dialects is highly preferred.

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org>, established in 1985 (International Youth Year) is an organization for sustainable development working in Dhaka Division, Sylhet Division, Chattogram Division including Chattogram Hill Tracts. YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Multi-sector Recovery and Empowerment Support for crises affected communities in Cox’s Bazar Activity.” since 2020. The project is technical supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by United States Department of State (DOS).

Women Protection and Empowerment:

Position purpose: Under the direct supervision of the Case Management and GBVIMS Officer at Young Power in Social Action (YPSA)in Cox’s Bazar, the Case Worker will play a critical role in delivering individualized, survivor-centered VAWG case management services in the Multipurpose community Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being. This includes offering psychosocial interventions tailored to each survivor's needs, in line with established interagency guidelines, IRC case management protocols, and sector-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Case Worker will also contribute to the overall effectiveness of the program by actively participating in capacity-building activities, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of service delivery.

Major Responsibilities:

• Reinforce adherence to the GBV guiding principles and women-, girl- and survivor centered support throughout all activities in the Multipurpose Community Centre

• Adhere to the women-, girl- and survivor-centered support approach, the GBV guiding principles and the IASC GBV Case Management Guidelines throughout all Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) case management and psychosocial interventions for women and girls. This includes ensuring confidentiality of survivors, and respect for their wishes and decisions.

• Provide age-appropriate case management, including: assessment of women and adolescent girl’s needs; provide basic, crisis counseling (and in some contexts further individual counseling); safety strategizing and risk assessing; development of action plans; support in pursuing services and support; safe, confidential and appropriate referrals in-line with the formal VAWG referral pathways.

• Work in close, daily collaboration with the health team in the Centers to ensure women and girls have safe, discrete and confidential access to/from the VAWG and health services via the internal referral procedures

• Provide services to child, adolescent and male survivors of GBV, including case management as well as the best interest determination, age-appropriate engagement and decision-making by survivors, and Do No Harm analysis.

• Lead age-appropriate and specialized structured group PSS services (Women Rise) to vulnerable women and girls.

• Work with the Legal, Child Protection, and Economic Recovery and Development teams to ensure a coordinated response to the evolving needs of women, girls, and their communities.

• Identify concerns related to and support adherence to Violence Against Women and Girls referral protocols and GBV guiding principles, and bring these concerns to the WPE Response Officer.

• Maintain effective working relationships with relevant partners including government, village court, union parishad, OCC and other implementing partners.

• Maintaining detailed and confidential case files in line with recognized standard methodologies.

• Contribute to development of Young Power in Social Action (YPSA)’s Violence Against Women and Girls programming based on the knowledge of the needs in the field; Maintain up to date referral pathways and services mapping at host community level.

• Collect, store, and present Violence Against Women and Girls related data in line with global and GBVSS ethics, standards, and guidelines as well as interagency reporting requirements as needed to contribute data analysis and Violence Against Women and Girls trend analysis (GBVIMS and Primero system).

• Work closely with other MPCC staff and community volunteers to plan activities that respond to identified needs to ensure safe referral to Violence Against Women and Girls case management services, contribute to risk mitigation and prevention of VAWG overall.

• Manage the implementation and upkeep of the GBVIMS, ensuring that data collection, storage, and analysis are secure and conducted ethically.

• Oversee data quality within the GBVIMS, working with the data management team to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

• Use GBVIMS data to improve service delivery and inform program decisions, while maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection standards.

• Monthly Consolidated Salary: 24, 150 BDT (Included all facilities except Mobile and Travel Allowance)
