- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in MEAL, monitoring, documentation or humanitarian projects.
- Experience in emergency response and relief distribution monitoring is preferred.
- Good knowledge of data collection and data management.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Experience with digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox/ODK will be an advantage.
- Good report writing and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to project locations.
Responsibilities & Context: Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development, working in the greater Chattogram division including Hill Tracts (CHT) since 1985 (International Youth Year). YPSA is going to implement the project " Bangladesh Monsoon Floods & Landslides Emergency Response”. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is funding the project till 31 December 2026.
Duration: 3 Months (October to December 2026)
Job Location: Cox’s Bazar with frequent field visits to Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Pekua
Job Purpose
The MEAL and Documentation Officer will be responsible for monitoring, accountability, data collection, documentation, beneficiary verification and reporting of project activities. S/he will ensure that project implementation is evidence-based, transparent and properly documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and follow YPSA Focal Point (Head of Advocacy Unit) for strategic direction for project implementation.
- Develop and maintain appropriate monitoring and documentation tools for project activities.
- Support project team for beneficiary identification, data collection, verification and validation.
- Conduct regular field monitoring of relief distribution activities.
- Verify beneficiary lists and distribution records through appropriate monitoring mechanisms.
- Collect quantitative and qualitative project data from the field.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry, cleaning and management of beneficiary and distribution data.
- Conduct Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) where applicable.
- Collect beneficiary feedback and complaints and ensure proper documentation and referral.
- Monitor the quality, quantity and timeliness of relief distributions.
- Document project activities through reports, photographs, attendance sheets and other appropriate means.
- Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy project documentation.
- Prepare weekly/monthly monitoring updates and contribute to project reports.
- Identify implementation gaps and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
- Support the preparation of success stories, case studies and lessons learned.
- Ensure confidentiality and responsible management of beneficiary information.
- Support donor and management visits with relevant data and documentation.
- Perform any other MEAL and documentation-related tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
