  • Proficiency in designing training materials and using various educational tools and technologies.

  • Experience in managing partnerships with CSOs, Government agencies and donors.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skill.

  • Fluent in spoken and written Bangla and English.

  • Excellent project management and organizational development skills.



Responsibilities & Context:

Action for Social Development (ASD) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Monitoring Officer to join at ASD Head Office, Dhaka. ASD established in 1988, is a non-government, non-profit and non-political development organization. ASD started its development activities with a Vision that people irrespective of their culture, ethnicity and religion enjoy full democratic and human rights and live in peace and dignity. The Mission of ASD is to facilitate the poor creating solidarity among themselves, building their capacity and bargaining power for realizing their rights and needs in order to improve their quality of life. ASD has a unique experience of working in both urban and rural areas and has experience of working as the head of consortium. ASD in a span of over 38 years, successfully implemented 77 development projects. In the previous journey ASD had a footprint in 18 districts of Bangladesh.

General:

Monitoring Officer is assigned/responsible for routine monitoring and reporting of the ongoing activities of the projects in compliance with the generally accepted practices and procedures of ASD. He/she is also responsible to develop monitoring tools as and when required. He/she have to keep ASD management abreast with updated activity information of the projects.

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Develop and update monitoring tools in line with organizational needs.

  • Prepare project monitoring plans and conduct routine monitoring of ongoing activities in accordance with approved work plans.

  • Develop the organization`s overall M&E plan in consultation with the Programme Director.

  • Prepare weekly monitoring reports for submission to the Programme Director, highlighting any deviations in project activities and recommending corrective actions.

  • Ensure programme quality by tracking outcomes, analyzing risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.

  • Lead the development of proposals and concept notes, including needs assessments, log-frame design, and budgeting.

  • Contribute to fundraising strategy and support donor engagement efforts.

  • Participate in internal reviews and evaluations of ongoing projects.

  • Collect and analyze data/information, in consultation with the Programme Director, to support project design, planning, and reporting.

  • Collect, verify, and compile activity reports from projects, and assist in preparing consolidated reports for ASD Management, donors, and the NGO Affairs Bureau, as required.

  • Maintain and update ASD`s information/data bank.

  • Support the Programme Director in organizing and conducting staff training for project teams.

  • Prepare information sheets and briefs as requested by relevant agencies.

  • Represent ASD at external meetings, training sessions, workshops, and seminars as assigned.

  • Participate in monthly coordination meetings, quarterly activity review meetings, and management staff meetings.

  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the organization.
