Job summary: The IT Officer is responsible for providing day-to-day IT support and operational services for the Bangladesh office, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient IT systems. This role supports end users, maintains IT assets, enforces IT policies, and collaborates with GIS to align with TAF IT standards, security controls, and global practices. Works closely with Regional IT Managers and GIS, TAF Country Office. Collaborates with regional/global IT teams to ensure alignment with TAF standards.
Reports to: Director- Finance, Grants and Admin and Regional IT Manager

Working days / hours: 37.5 hours per week
Main duties and responsibilities
Provide Level 1–2 IT support for staff (onsite and remote).
Diagnosing and resolving issues related to:
Windows laptops/desktops
Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and other applications
Printers, scanners, and peripherals
Network and internet connectivity
Log, track, and resolve IT incidents and service requests according to IT procedures.
Escalate complex issues to regional or global IT teams when required.
Prepare, configure, and deploy IT equipment (laptops, monitors, mobile devices).
Support endpoint management tools (e.g. Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager, antivirus, disk encryption).
Ensure devices comply with TAF security baselines (updates
Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and lifestyle records.
Assist with user onboarding and offboarding activities.
Deliver IT induction for new staff, including basic IT orientation, account access guidance, acceptable use requirements, and security awareness.
Support password resets and MFA issues (without handling or requesting passwords).
Follow access control and approval of workflows strictly.
Provide first-line support for:
LAN/Wi‑Fi connectivity
ISP coordination and basic troubleshooting
Office IT infrastructure (firewall, routers, switches, access points)
Provide support for and maintain the PABX/telephony system, including basic configuration, user extensions, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination as required.
Liaise with vendors and service providers when needed.
Follow and enforce TAF IT security policies and best practices.
Support security tools and processes such as:
Endpoint protection
MFA enforcement
Basic security incident reporting
Support the delivery of ongoing IT and cybersecurity awareness training for all staff (e.g., phishing awareness, password practices, data handling, and safe remote working).
Support the implementation, maintenance, and periodic testing of the Disaster Recovery (DR) and Security Incident Response plans, including documenting test results and monitoring follow-up actions.
Raise security concerns or potential risks promptly to the IT Manager.
Maintain IT documentation, user guides, and local procedures.
Prepare and submit monthly reports on IT operations and support activities (e.g., incidents and service requests, asset status, key issues/risks, and corrective or improvement actions).
Contribute to improving IT processes, service quality, and user experience
Support audits and compliance reviews when required.
Support the completion of high-priority special projects and other duties as assigned by GIS and TAF Leadership.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by GIS and TAF Leadership.
