Aligning with national policies and UN SDGs, the program promotes deep inclusivity, even adapting to 100% online training during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, SDP has empowered over 428,000 marginalized individuals—including women, disabled, and transgender people. With a high job placement rate, the program has proven to be a transformative socio-economic force, successfully reducing child marriage, boosting household incomes, and supporting a prosperous future for Bangladesh.

Trainer - English Language will responsible for delivering classroom-based English language training in intermediate spoken English, communication skills, workplace English, and professional interaction, enabling participants to develop industry-relevant communication competencies for employment in domestic and international job markets while building confidence and professional skills.

Major Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom-based English language training according to the approved curriculum, lesson plans, and training schedule.

• Develop participants’ spoken English, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, and writing skills through interactive learning activities.

• Train participants in workplace communication, business English, customer service, telephone etiquette, presentation, interview skills, and professional communication.

• Facilitate practical learning through role plays, group discussions, presentations, debates, pair work, and other learner-centered activities.

• Assess participants’ English skills through tests, quizzes, assignments, presentations, oral assessments, and regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.

• Prepare participants for workplace communication, job interviews, customer-facing roles, and professional interactions in different work environments.

• Develop lesson plans, learning materials, presentations, quizzes, assessment tools, and digital learning resources in line with programme requirements.

• Maintain accurate attendance and progress records, conduct trainee surveys and data entry in Taroworks, and support counselling, career readiness, and inclusive learning activities.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

Graduation in English, Applied Linguistics, Mass Communication & Journalism, Business Communication, or related subject from any reputed universities.

Experience Requirements

2 years of Relevant teaching or training experience in English language instruction, particularly Spoken English or Business English.

Additional Job Requirements

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, communication, and language teaching methods.

• Deliver engaging English lessons using effective teaching methods, digital tools, lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities.

• Support learners through coaching and mentoring while maintaining strong communication.
