Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant field-level experience in NGO/humanitarian projects.
  • Experience in emergency response, relief distribution or community mobilization is preferred.
  • Good communication and community engagement skills.
  • Ability to supervise volunteers and manage field activities.
  • Good knowledge of the local community and geographical context will be an advantage.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in difficult field conditions and travel extensively within the assigned area.


Responsibilities & Context:

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development, working in the greater Chattogram division including Hill Tracts (CHT) since 1985 (International Youth Year). YPSA is going to implement the project " Bangladesh Monsoon Floods & Landslides Emergency Response”. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is funding the project till 31 December 2026.

Duration: 4 Months (September to December 2026)

Job Location: Cox’s Bazar with frequent field visits to Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Pekua

Job Purpose

The Field Supervisor will supervise field-level emergency response activities and Community Volunteers, ensuring effective beneficiary identification, verification, communication and distribution of relief assistance in the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate Community Volunteers in the assigned geographical area.
  • Conduct and support household-level assessment and beneficiary identification.
  • Support verification of beneficiary information and vulnerability status.
  • Ensure that approved beneficiary selection criteria are followed.
  • Maintain regular communication with community representatives and local stakeholders.
  • Support preparation and updating of beneficiary lists.
  • Assist in organizing distribution sites and ensuring orderly distribution.
  • Monitor the distribution of relief items and report any irregularities immediately.
  • Ensure that beneficiaries receive assistance according to the approved entitlement.
  • Support crowd management and prioritize vulnerable persons during distribution.
  • Collect beneficiary feedback and communicate complaints or concerns to the Project Officer.
  • Maintain field records, attendance sheets, distribution sheets and other relevant documents.
  • Support MEAL staff during monitoring and data collection.
  • Prepare daily/weekly field updates for the Project Officer.
  • Identify security, access and operational challenges and report them promptly.
  • Ensure respectful and non-discriminatory communication with all beneficiaries.
  • Follow YPSA safeguarding, protection, PSEA and code of conduct requirements.
  • Perform other field-related duties assigned by the Project Officer or Project Manager.
