- At least 3 years of relevant experience in project implementation, preferably in humanitarian/emergency response.
- Experience in relief distribution, beneficiary management and field coordination is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage field teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work in difficult field conditions and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel frequently within project locations.
Responsibilities & Context: Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development, working in the greater Chattogram division including Hill Tracts (CHT) since 1985 (International Youth Year). YPSA is going to implement the project " Bangladesh Monsoon Floods & Landslides Emergency Response”. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is funding the project till 31 December 2026.
Duration: 4 Months (September to December 2026)
Job Location: Cox’s Bazar with frequent field visits to Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Chakaria and Pekua
Job Purpose
The Project Officer will be responsible for day-to-day implementation, coordination and supervision of project activities at field level. S/he will ensure that relief assistance reaches the targeted beneficiaries in a timely, transparent and accountable manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in overall project implementation.
- Prepare and follow up on field-level activity plans and schedules.
- Coordinate relief distribution activities in assigned project locations.
- Supervise Field Supervisors and Community Volunteers.
- Support beneficiary identification, assessment and verification.
- Ensure that beneficiary selection follows approved criteria and project guidelines.
- Coordinate with local government representatives, community leaders and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of beneficiary lists and distribution plans.
- Ensure proper arrangement of distribution sites, crowd management and orderly distribution.
- Monitor the availability, transportation and delivery of relief items to distribution points.
- Ensure beneficiaries receive the approved quantity and type of assistance.
- Support MEAL activities, data collection and beneficiary feedback mechanisms.
- Maintain proper field-level records, distribution documents and activity reports.
- Prepare regular field updates and submit them to the Project Manager.
- Identify operational challenges and immediately report them to the Project Manager.
- Ensure that women, children, older persons and persons with disabilities receive appropriate consideration during implementation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding principles and humanitarian standards.
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager.
