Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or any relevant discipline.
Experience:
1–2 years of experience in sales, SME outreach, microfinance, insurance, or telecom field operations (preferred).
Additional Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in the field and manage assigned territory.
Basic knowledge of insurance or financial products will be an advantage·
Familiarity with the local SME market is highly preferred.
Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will be responsible for promoting group life & health insurance solutions to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the assigned territory. The role focuses on market outreach, client support, and relationship-building to expand SME insurance penetration.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct regular field outreach and visits to SME businesses in assign territory.
· Promote group life and health insurance products to SME owners and decision-makers
· Support prospective and existing clients with policy enrollment, renewal, documentation, and basic service queries
· Build and maintain strong relationships with local business owners, trade associations, and SME networks
· Act as the first point of contact to ensure smooth onboarding and post-sales support for SME clients
· Collect market insights, competitor information, and customer feedback to support product and process improvement
· Coordinate with internal teams to resolve client issues and ensure service quality
· Maintain daily activity reports and submit regular updates to the supervisor
