Job Context:
∎ Directly Reports to: Managing Director
∎ Location: Based in Dhaka but frequent travelling outside Dhaka will be required
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide initial investment review and screening of prospective investment opportunities for the firm as well as managing Truvalu's investment pipeline to meet targets;
∎ Conduct regular meetings/telephonic conversations with entrepreneurs, and travel frequently for site visits;
∎ Collect SME specific information for preparation, drafting, and writing of Business Case Memorandum by Investment Team;
∎ Collate detailed, up-to-date information about particular industries and the Bangladesh economy;
∎ Primary analysis of business and financial information relating to specific companies to determine how an organization is positioned to deliver value for fund investors;
∎ Due diligence of prospective investee companies including review of investee documents such as audit/unaudited financial statements, legal and financial due diligence report, financing agreements, land purchase and rental agreements, RJSC documents, bank statements, and other such relevant documents;
∎ Coordinate with the Investment Team in preparation and presentation of Business Case Financial Model and Investment Proposal for Truvalu's Global Office;
∎ Design and plan investee specific business development services in areas including but not limited to marketing, governance, financial system implementation, trade linkage;
∎ Engage consultants for implementation of business development services as required;
∎ Provide ongoing monitoring of investments including review of quarterly performance and impact results;
∎ Coach and guide investee companies as co-entrepreneur;
∎ Establish and maintain relationships with industry, trade bodies, research firms, partner organizations, consultants and professional organizations to expand the portfolio of Truvalu;
∎ Arrange workshops / training programs for SME entrepreneurs;
∎ Preparation of proposals / concept note and coordinate and manage proposal development with partner organizations;
∎ Planning and implementing brand-building activities for Truvalu.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Commit to basic value of social impact creation of Truvalu and adhere to organizational culture and overall mission of Truvalu.enterprises Limited;
∎ Hard working, creative, energetic, pro-active with leadership skills;
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills;
∎ Have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and conversant with financial modeling;
∎ Investment Banking / Private Equity background highly preferred;
∎ Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience preferred. Age Limit 35;
∎ Able to attract investors and partners and have strong network capabilities;
∎ Know-how in agribusiness and/or SMEs will be preferred;
∎ Fluency in English is a must;
∎ Comfortable with traveling on short notice to different districts across Bangladesh;
