Job Responsibilities:
∎ Fire Safety Management:
∎ Ensure an effective fire safety management system and procedure as per BNBC-2021;
∎ Prepare annual training plan on fire safety, firefighting, and evacuation drill for BRAC Bank coworkers;
∎ Prepare all reports and returns on fire safety management and fire equipment, and maintain MIS;
∎ Develop fire prevention programs and building evacuation procedures for all the BRAC Bank premises;
∎ Administer the annual fire extinguisher maintenance program, sprinkler, and test program;
∎ Accomplish regular checks of all fire safety equipment and refill fire extinguishers when needed;
∎ Check fire equipment such as smoke detectors, fire hydrant, fire doors, firefighting apparatus, etc.;
∎ Identify potential fire hazard areas and takes preventive measures on an urgent basis;
∎ Any other action as and when needed;
∎ Deal with the suppliers, ensure regular supply and maintenance of fire equipment, and process bills;
∎ Liaise with FS&CD officials for the smooth operation of the business;
∎ Ensure all kinds of fire safety requirements and comply with the guidelines of BNBC & Bangladesh Bank;
∎ Supervise the maintenance of all fire safety work on the premises;
∎ Edify all BBL staff about the Emergency Response Plan to the occupants of the premises;
∎ Regularly update the Fire Safety Committee of all premises of BRAC Bank;
∎ Conduct fire drills for the occupants of the premises at least twice every calendar year;
∎ Prepare fire safety guidebooks for the occupants of the premises;
∎ Coordinate and supervise the occupants on firefighting and evacuation in case of fire/ related emergencies;
∎ Prepare and implement the Arson Prevention Plan for all BRAC Bank premises;
∎ Conduct necessary investigations regarding any incident that occurred inside BRAC Bank premises;
∎ Arrange necessary fire drills and training sessions for the coworkers in coordination with FS&CD.
∎ Fire Command Center Operation:
∎ Monitor systems in Control Room/ Fire Command Centre;
∎ Respond to operational and system issues from fire alarm, security, lift, car parking, and occupant complaints;
∎ Ensuring Fire Safety equipment for the Fire Fighting team;
∎ Supervise the operation of the Fire Command Centre in the event of a fire or other related emergencies;
∎ Ensure the surveillance of all possible fire-related hazards;
∎ Conduct regular checking;
∎ Roaster duty officer at Fire Command Station of Head Office and maintain the registers properly;
∎ Ensure regular check of the detection and protection equipment and update the checklist properly;
∎ Assign vendors to solve fire equipment malfunctioning problems at different bank premises.
∎ Data Center & Disaster Recovery Site Fire Safety Maintenance Operation:
∎ Ensure DC & DR fire safety equipment is functioning properly;
∎ Coordinate with assigned security supervisors and ensure their presence as per duty roster;
∎ Ensure bi-weekly maintenance of all fire safety equipment at the Data Center & Disaster Recovery Site;
∎ Maintenance of Fire Safety Equipment (Suppression System);
∎ Keep up and running all Fire Detection & Protection systems;
∎ A regular check of all Fire Extinguishers;
∎ Monitor & Maintenance of EMS Monitoring system of the Server Room & Power Room;
∎ Schedule check of all Security Equipment & Fire Safety Systems;
∎ Maintenance of all sorts of Door Sensors Devices;
∎ Provide monthly Security Equipment & Fire Safety related reports;
∎ Replacement of faulty Security Equipment & Fire Safety system (if required) by the vendor.
∎ Crisis Management and Multi-tasking support:
∎ Multi-tasking and liaison with different departments/divisions of the bank;
∎ Crisis Management (Fire & Environmental hazard, Safety & Security, etc.);
∎ Dealing with the vendors to ensure timely completion of tasks and payment of bills;
∎ Plan and coordinate professional and safety-related training for the fire safety team members.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Fire Safety Manager Course (Minimum 6 Months) from Fire service and Civil Defense is preferred;
∎ Knowledge of fire safety equipment like breathing apparatus, body overall, fire pump operating, hydrant system, fire panel operating, detection, protection, and suppression system, etc.;
∎ At least 5-6 years of work experience in a relevant field at renowned organizations;
∎ Training on First Aid & CPR;
∎ Experience of active firefighting;
∎ Handy with Auto-CAD system is preferable;
∎ Good interpersonal communication skills in English and Bangla;
∎ Proficient in Bangla and English typing and official correspondence;
∎ Knowledge & experience in Fire Investigation & Fire Safety Plan designing;
∎ Strong in Microsoft Office package, preferably in advance Excel;
∎ Be customer-centric, self-propelled, and capable of meeting deadlines.
