The Area Sales Manager / Zonal Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, optimizing distributor operations, and ensuring effective market execution in the assigned area or zone. The role identifies local business opportunities, supports strategic planning, and ensures the achievement of sales and distribution objectives while developing a capable and motivated sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the area sales team to achieve primary, secondary sales, and collection targets.
Appointing distributors, managing floor stock, and ensuring profitability.
Identifying market and route gaps and selecting potential distributors.
Proposing and managing RTM plans effectively.
Ensuring field force earns their monthly incentive.
Conducting market visits as per PJP compliance.
Maintaining cost-to-sales ratio within approved budget limits.
Controlling and monitoring market returns within approved limits.
Submitting periodic reports on primary and secondary sales, distributor stock, returns, damages, and expiries.
Executing trade promotions, consumer offers, and merchandising plans.
Monitoring and analyzing competitor activities and strategies.
