Job Responsibilities:
∎ Providing support for organizational strategic direction as one of the senior most experienced banker in the team
∎ Building a quality portfolio of clients in the SME, Retail, Micro, Corporate and Middle markets segment with maximization of profit
∎ Anticipating client's need and ensuring that their requirement is taken care of in a timely manner
∎ Ensuring that the pricing of the deal is competitive yet profitable for the bank
∎ Building a trustworthy relationship so that the client gives the first right of refusal to the bank
∎ In depth understanding of the business to be able to provide client with relevant market information related to financing and business, to buy their share of mind
∎ Structure facility in a manner that keeps the client's operation smooth
∎ Recognizing the opportunity to sell advanced products in the market and support development of capital market products
∎ Advising clients/banks on how to manage their balance-sheets, hedging/managing fx risks
∎ Formulating and implementing plans to achieve the desired budget and objectives
∎ Mentoring key resources, providing guidance and assessing training needs for individuals who directly report to the position
∎ Using the bank's capital in the most profitable manner
∎ Managing and analyzing bank's credit portfolio and diversifying the portfolio to ensure quality
∎ Reviewing and approving credit proposals and ensuring all credit facilities are operating efficiently within approved limits
∎ Complying with central bank's regulations
∎ Various policy roll outs relating to credit, product, market and various segment related risk including setting, managing and reviewing industry ceilings
∎ Implementing the bank's lending criteria, credit policy and procedures, risk rating system etc.
∎ Setting standardized risk assessment mechanism for the analysis of Corporate, Financial Institutions and SME Credit proposals
∎ Assuming the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) function including monitoring Market Risk, Price Risk, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk etc.
∎ Identification and monitoring of operational and system risk in line with BASEL II & III
∎ Reviewing and upgrading of bank's SOPs, policy manuals etc.
∎ Strategic positioning, planning, execution of regulatory reforms in financial industry at country policy making level
∎ Planning strategic sustainability, strategic investment opportunities with linkages to bank's existing development initiatives
∎ Directing inclusivity through connecting technology and financial products
∎ Deliberating initiatives to promote financial inclusion
∎ Providing guidance to members of the team to manage their functions successfully
∎ In-depth understanding of businesses and to be able to come up with the best possible outcome while managing the overall business better.
∎ Monitoring and providing assistance in managing critical operational issues to ensure compliance with Bank's own and regulatory requirements
∎ Negotiate successfully with regulators and clients where all communication has failed
∎ Overseeing bottom-line metrics, including detailed strategic analysis, forecasting, and account placement.
∎ Implementing new strategies and tactics to improve collections and recovery performance, training and coaching staff to improve performance
∎ Managing the bank's exposure together with improving the restructuring of the portfolio through exit of non-core and irregular accounts- effective tail management
∎ Seek market information to identify proactively industry opportunities, problems etc. to maximize profitability and to minimize loss
∎ Judgment/sensitivity to ensure bank's position/interest is not compromised-while dealing with sensitive issues which leads to situations where the Bank is open to any negative situation
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 57 years
∎ Minimum 3 years in the position of Deputy Managing Director in upto third generation commercial banks. Working experience may be relaxed for exceptionally deserving Candidates.
∎ Age not over 57 years as on 31 August 2023. Age may be relaxed for the candidates with excellent reputation and professionalism
∎ The deserving candidate should have minimum second division and above academic result
∎ Specialized experience in Credit Risk Management, Corporate Banking, SME & Retails Business, Treasury Operations and Trade services specifically T&G based trade transactions will be an added advantage
∎ Capable of building and leading a team successfully
∎ Sound knowledge of legal complications of the country
∎ Knowledge of operational procedures, policies, products, services and organization
∎ Thorough understanding of trade finance and documentary credit process and UCP
